This was my first big project – I was learning to crochet and decided to make a baby blanket for my husband’s niece’s new born.
I was ever so proud of this, though when I look at it now, it seems so boring and basic.
Supplies
- DK wool in white and pink
- 4mm crochet hook
Happy Lollipops 
It’s a cute blanket. I know for a fact little ones don’t care about pretty, they care that it was made with them in mind (I’ve made a few gifts for church friends and family and the gifts are still loved by the recipients) though a blanket first… I feel bad just making a cat toy to learn how to crochet. that’s a big project!

Glad to help see it in the right light. Because I’ve been doing crochet about 4 years now, and still can’t master making a square.

That really is not hard to do at all – I’d do a youtube tutorial except I haven’t quite worked out how to make videos!
