Art Journal Page: Bloom where you are planted

I signed for an online tutorial on Vicky P’s Simply Stunning Art Journals on Craftsy  sometime ago. It was a great session and I love the concept; you sign up for it and are given access to a number of tutorials about the subject you are interested in. The videos are shot professionally and it’s the next best thing to a real life tutorial.

Once you’ve paid for a class, you have permanent access to the videos. You can even upload and share your own work and with your classmates. Craftsy do a number of online classes and I am going to sign up for a dress making course next (Btw, I wasn’t paid for this plug 😀 ).

In Vicky’s tutorial, she created a layout using the ‘Bloom where you are planted’ prompt. This is my take on it.

Bloom where you are planted

I’ve used an envelope stiffener as a canvas and collaged pieces of paper on it to give it texture and a background.

Laurence bought me the complete Infusions range from PaperArtsy for Christmas and I decided to play around with it. I’ve created the background using the mica powders mixed with gel medium. I LOVED the effect.

The sun flowers were stamped, cut out and water coloured.

Thanks for stopping by!
