I am going to be learning to sew soon; I’ve signed up for a class that takes place mid September, I’ve got a sewing machine, scissors, threads, chalk and pins; the only thing I didn’t have was a pin cushion. Given that I crochet, it seems silly not to make my own.

I’ve used Aran yarn and a 5mm crochet hook. The stuffing is just toy stuffing I bought from Hobbycraft.
It’s really very simple to make and took me less than an hour. You don’t need a lot of yarn and this is a great little project for using up scraps. Even if you don’t need a pin cushion, it’s something you could make as a little gift.
